She is one of the greats in jazz singing. Sheila Jordan used her voice like an instrument as early as the 1940s. Artistically she matured in bebop to become a first-rate stylist, who already predicted a great career for her companion Charlie Parker. And was right. The list of their musical encounters reads like a who's who of jazz history: George Russell, Don Heckmann, Lee Konitz, Steve Kuhn - to name just a few.
